Hidden behind the busy Waterloo Station in London was an empty, disused, grungy tunnel, the infamous Old Vic Tunnels. Now, this tunnel has been reclaimed and recreated into one of the coolest places in London, the new House of Vans underground skate park. The skate park covers 32,000 square feet with skating tubes that race up the sides of the cylindrical tunnel. Just adding a skate park is not enough. The plans include adding shops, a cinema, restaurants, and bars to the underground playground.
An unused underground tunnel will soon become one of the biggest draws in the city as young London residents and tourists from around the globe descend underground for a fun day, or a wild night, of exploration and adventure.
