BMW enthusiasts from near and far, it is time to rejoice as BMW USA is proud to release the brand new BMW M2. This not good news, this is great news! There has been a ton of hype surrounding the release of the M2 Coupe not because its impressive specs or price but because it makes us nostalgic of one of BMW’s greatest M cars, the 1995 M3.
Interestingly enough gear heads, the M2 has roughly the same specs as the old car such as its size and weight. For those of you looking for the perfect entry level M vehicle, this is it! The car is set for production in 2016 and it will come with a turbocharged straight-six, 370 horsepower, 343 lb-ft of torque (plus overboost) and a 7,000 rpm redline.
Like its older sibling, the M2 has taken some of the M4’s great specs such as its aluminum suspension bits, steering rack, an electronic rear locking diff, a six-speed manual or optional seven-speed dual clutch but is missing the carbon-fibre roof and M-style side mirrors.
Built for you in mind, the M2 starts at the low-to-mid $60,000 range which is just about the average between the M2359 and M4. You can now get the looks, power and prestige of the brand new BMW M2 at a fair price.
