The building regulations at Millstätter Lake in Seeboden, Austria are a little odd for a lake entertainment area. You are not allowed to have a permanent boat dock on the lake, so what is a boat owner and water enthusiast supposed to do? MHM Architects came up with an incredicble solution that takes care of docking, boat storage, living quarters, and fun. The Seeboden Boat House is built completely for wood planks, copper sheets, and ingenuity. One side of the home uses hydraulic lifts to raise and lower sections of the house to create a temporary dock and to open the boat storage area. When completely closed, the house looks like a wood crate sitting on the lake, but once opened it turns into an incredible house with an open and inviting feeling sitting right on the water front.
Who needs a permanent dock, when you can have a permanent center of fun and beauty instead?
