Photographer Jasper James travels between the two major metropolitan areas of London and Beijing. His visions of the fast growing metro areas and his knowledge that urban dwellers now exceeds rural citizens gave birth to a unique project. Jasper decided to create a series of photographs that capture visions of cities through the silhouettes of their residents. The images produce a translucent silhouette of his human model that brings out the cityscape behind them. Jasper uses not post-camera work to produce these images, relying only in-camera programs and controls to combine images of varying contrasts to produce these amazing photos.
City Silhouettes is an intriguing project due to both its visual appeal and its technical roots. It is rare that a photographer in these days creates stunning and magical photos of this quality without post-production work.
