Halfway between Las Vegas and Reno, where Route 6 and Route 95 merge, you will find one of the oddest merges in the USA, a Clown Motel and an ancient cemetery. The Old Tonopah Nevada Cemetery was used between 1906 and 1911 and holds approximately 300 bodies, nothing strange or funny about that. At least it was not funny until right next door, with adjoining gates, was erected the Clown Motel. The motel is not only named Clown, it is a tribute to clowns with bright colors, clown signage, and a large display of clown collectibles.
In just a few steps, you go from looking at clown dolls to stepping into a graveyard of people wiped out by the Tonopah Plague. While the cemetery itself is not humorous, the combination of the hilarity of Clown Motel and Cemetery joined at the hips will bring a chuckle to your lips.
