In search of ways to help shelter the homeless from around the world a potential low-cost, lightweight geodesic dome made from umbrellas, garbage bags and a space blanket, can provide a life-saving solution to the homeless who sleep outside. Earth Lander has reclaimed many common materials to create this thermally efficient dome that is resistant to elements such as wind and water.
The frames from multiple umbrellas were used to create a secure dome structure, while providing a waterproof option to sleep under. For insulation, air-filled garbage bags, cellulose wool and a space blanket were used.
This innovative, efficient and life-saving idea might save countless of homeless and shelterless people from the exposure of harsh natural elements. We appreciate such incredible ideas that help others.
