The revitalized Hudson Park will create one of the most amazing architectural features in the world. The plans flip normal concepts completely upside down. New York is renowned for their elevated railways, but in Hudson Park it is not the railway that will float above the city, the city will actually rise above the streets. The Hudson Park area will be build on a platform built on top of 300 concreted covered steel caissons that have been driven up to 80 feet into the ground to reach the bedrock below. The platform will become home to skyscrapers, stores, and public areas to house up to 65,000 people.
Up to 30 train tracks will hide underneath the platform in one of the busiest hubs in the New York City area. While the Hudson Park development may not have the glitz and glamour of a Dubai skyscraper, the underlying technology and innovation is even more impressive.
