Local bookstores have nothing on the beauty of Netherlands’ Selexyz Dominicanen bookstore. As you can all see, this bookstore was once a church that was built in 1294 and has now being converted to what might be the most magnificent bookstore we have ever seen. The Selexyz Dominicanen bookstore designed by Merkx+Girod was awarded the Lensvelt de Architect prize in 2007 and for good reason. This impressive bookstore welcomes around 700,000 visitors each year and showcases 25,000 books and 45,000 volumes. This is a must see for any traveler.
