Van Gogh’s Starry Night has been recreated on a bike path in the Netherlands by Dutch artist and designer Daan Roosegaarde. Daan used a combination of glow in the dark technology and solar powered LED’s embedded in the bike path to create a magical effect when the sun goes down. The bike path comes alive as a starry path leading through the park for a full kilometer. The path in located in Brabant, the same area where Van Gogh was born and raised. The tribute provides both beauty and functionality. The lights make it easy for cyclists to stay on the path even on the darkest nights, and may inspire romance for couples who choose to stroll along its path.
