Inventors can have wild ideas that blow our minds, but in one simple glance we know we never want to own one. This series of old-time inventions are cool in concept, but are something we would hate to own. Can you imagine sharing a cigarette using a shared pipe? Is a wooden dog restrainer actually better than a chain leash? Does that neck cleaner only clean your neck, or does it add you to the Borg collective? The radio hat might be the predecessor to the MP3 player, but I do not think mygrandpa would have been caught wearing one. We do have to admit that strange looking motorcycle looks like fun, but I wonder where you hang the license tag.
These fun inventions from yesteryear never found commercial success, but they are fun to look back at, grin, and ponder how they may have affected our current world. Thankfully, the wooden swimsuits did not become a long-term success stalling the invention of modern swimwear.
